Karangetang volcano is one of Indonesia's most active volcanoes. This volcano is also called as "Api Siau" or the Fire of Siau. It is located on the northern end of Siau Island, Sulawesi. This island is has five summit  craters with more than 22.000 people living around the volcano. 

Karangetang eruptions were recorded since 1675. There were forty big eruptions recorded since that. The last big eruption was on 1974. All the people on this small island were evacuated. Karangetang volcano grows lava dome, and of course it will generate pyroclastic flow that is very danger for the people around. On February 2015, the volcano showed glowing lava avalanche and continuously hot rocks fall.
